If that person is asking for money, or asking for anything from you, it may be a scam! Just make sure do not let your guard down.

Finally, you should meet up with that person! In most cases, these scammers would not agree to meet up with you. Apparently there is no assurance that you would not be scammed even if you really meet up in person. When you finally get to meet that person, you then would have a better idea about that person. Then it is time for you to decide whether that person is trustworthy or not. Of course it is not about testing to see if that person is scammer, it is about whether you guys could move it forward to turn into a relationship.
